In 2012, a group of young people in addiction recovery got tired of hanging outside of churches after Alcoholic Anonymous meetings and decided to do something about the lack of recovery support services for young people seeking recovery in Portland, Oregon. Winston Murray, Co-Founder & 4D's first President, couldn't understand why something like 4D didn't already exist. The first couple years were filled with a "struggle to just keep the lights on" until a group of "old-timers" came together to help support 4D. Since then, 4D has turned into a innovative model for youth addiction recovery support that makes sobriety attractive - that is why nearly 600 young people frequent 4D every month.
